Lyrics: I Am Of The Olive Tree

One of the most life-changing truths for me came when I began to understand that although I am not naturally born of Israel, I have still been adopted in!
I used to think that God treated his naturally born children and his adopted children differently.
I used to think that there were different instructions for the native born and the foreigner.
Yet this is not what scripture tells me!

I remember being shocked when I read some of these verses for the first time.

One such passage was NUMBERS 15:15-16 which says this,
"The community is to have the SAME rules for you and for the foreigner residing among you; this is a LASTING ORDINANCE for the generations to come.   YOU and the FOREIGNER shall be THE SAME before the Lord:  The SAME LAWS AND REGULATIONS will apply both to YOU and to the FOREIGNER residing among you." (Capitalisation mine)

Paul talks about us being grafted into the same olive tree in ROMANS 11:11-24 and in Ephesians 4 we are reminded that we are ONE BODY not two!

In my other blog, Mama's Place, I wrote an article called, 'But...aren't all these things you are talking about just for Israel?' which you are more than welcome to go across and read too if you like.
I wrote this song based on the Scriptural truths that I recieved from Yah; that although I am a stranger (not native born), I am grafted in, of the olive tree and therefore, I too am of Israel.
Bless you as you listen to and sing these words.

Verse One:

I am of the olive tree
I have been grafted in
I am of Israel
Though I’ve never even been there
It is my homeland
I am of Israel

Chorus:

And one day, one day, one day
He will bring me home

Verse Two:

Ephraim and Judah
Will come back together
They are of Israel
The stranger and sojourner
Walking with Yah together
They are of Israel

 Chorus:

And one day, one day, one day
He will bring them home

 Spoken Interlude:
{From Ezekiel 37:20-22}

I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone
I will gather them from all around and bring them back to their own land.
I will make them one nation in the land,
On the mountains of Israel.
There will be one king over them
And they will never again be two nations
Or divided into two kingdoms

{From Romans 11:17}

And you, though a wild olive shoot,
have been grafted in among the others
and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root...

{From Ephesians 2:19}

 Now, therefore, you are NO LONGER STRANGERS and FOREIGNERS, but FELLOW CITIZENS with the saints and members of the household of God

 Verse Three:

We who do the will
Of Abba in heaven
We are of Israel
Mishpokah all scattered
Will be united in one kingdom
We are of Israel

Chorus:

And one day, one day, one day
He will bring us home
And one day, one day, one day
He will bring me home
